Regional Airline Academy provides students a clear path to employment as a Professional Airline Pilot through the “Airline Direct Track” First Officer Career Course.
As part of Regional Airline Academy's focus to provide well prepared pilots to our airline partners, we are offering new career opportunities and training courses for pilots who meet certain enrollment prerequisites. RAA actually gets the pilot an interview BEFORE they complete the Airline Direct Track program. These courses are airline specific and will enable the graduate to be better prepared for their airline interview. They will also demonstrate to the airline that a more concerted effort was made by the student to gain additional knowledge which will prove to be invaluable in successfully completing an airline's rigorous operations and procedures training. All Regional Airline Academy's courses are taught by highly qualified instructors who will provide the attention each student needs to ensure that a superior knowledge base is gained. This form of training is more highly prized by the airline industry.
Step 1 – Apply for airline employment through Regional Airline Academy
You can apply if you have:
- Commercial Pilot License with Instrument and Multi-Engine ratings
- Documented Total Flight Time and Multi-Engine Time. Minimum total flight time requirements are airline specific. Ask your RAA counselor for airline specific time requirements, qualification prerequisites, and airline opportunities.
Step 2 - Airline Direct Track Interview Prep Course (Call for class dates and tuition)
This Interview Prep Course is designed to help you determine that you are ready to apply a specific airline, and prepare you to pass the airline interview. This 2 day course is the most professional and personalized way to prepare for successfully employment with a specific airline. You'll receive personal and professional training from specifically qualified instructors. This is not some short-cut computer program, but an instructor lead class that allows for the interaction necessary, so you may feel confident in your knowledge and knowing your questions have been answered before your interview.

Step 3 – Interview with an Airline
You will be interviewed for a full time pilot job with the specific airline of choice. If accepted for employment by a specific airline, you will be offered a job contingent on completion of training as described below.
Step 4 – Airline Direct Track & New Hire Training (Call for class dates and tuition)
Phase 1 – Airline Direct Track Course
Course includes:
Week 1 and 2 - ATP Weather / ATP Performance / FAA Regulations / Instrument & Chart Review / Severe Weather / Airline Operations /Crew Resource Management / Safety of Flight operations, equipment, systems / Transport Category aircraft systems / FTD Instrument Evaluation
Week 3 – Airline Specific Aircraft Systems / Airline Specific checklists and procedures / Airline Specific Aircraft Equipment / PF, PNF Duties and Responsibilities / Aircraft Limitations
Week 4 and 5 – ATP Written Exam / Airline Specific Aircraft Systems continued / System abnormal operations / Crew Concepts in abnormal operations / Crew Concepts in abnormal situations / FTD Training – Normal/Abnormal Operations
Week 6 – FTD Training – Review, LOFT, Proficiency Check / End of Course Written Exam / Interview and Resume Prep and Final Practice Interview
Week 7 – Simulator Differences Training / Level D Simulator – Normal/Abnormal Procedures or airline specified additional FTD Training.
This 7 week program combines RAA’s successful Airline Transition Course, a program designed to prepare a student for the training and operations of today’s regional jet operations, with specific operation procedures, aircraft systems, and crew concepts. Completion of this program qualifies the candidate with the required prerequisites for immediate employment without requiring additional flight time to meet hiring minimums.
Phase 2 – Basic Indoc and New Hire Training
Following successful completion of Phase 1, graduates will proceed their new job with a Date of Hire.

prior to completing the course!
