9/19/2007 - Gulfstream Internationals Career Seminar at RAA/Falcon a Great Success!
On September 18, 2007 Regional / Falcon Airline Academy’s Sanford, Florida campus held a New Pilot Recruitment Seminar. It was a great success with Gulfstream displaying a Beech 1900D and crew on the ramp providing tours. Experienced and beginner pilots alike sat side by side receiving the most up to date industry knowledge on what it takes to succeed at becoming an Airline Pilot. The key speakers where Gulfstream Training Academy's President Paul Stagias, and Bobby Pinto, Program Director for Pilot Recruitment.
Mr. Stagias, a past graduate of Falcon/Regional had a lot of positive things to say about the future opportunities as an Airline Pilot. “The Airlines aren’t going away despite what the media would have you believe” said Mr. Stagias. “There is a shortage of qualified pilots for the current hiring trend” he added about the current state of the regional airline industry. Gulfstream International, as just one of over 50 Regional Carriers in the U.S., hired 250 pilots since 2006 and is anticipating hiring more in 2008. The future of the airline industry is exciting and Regional/Falcon Airline Academy with its advanced airline style training and airline alliances is well positioned for preparing tomorrows pilots. Mr. Stagias had this to say about RAA & Falcon: “RAA & Falcon students have one step above other applicants”.
Perhaps the most important topic of her discussion was Seniority. “Seniority is the most important thing you have to worry about in the industry.” said Bobby Pinto. He went on to say that “Every thing you do is based upon that.” I feel the main point of his statement was to encourage pilots not to put off training if they have made the decision to peruse an airline career. Every month that you put off means you are one more step down on the Seniority Ladder when you do get hired.
Both exceutives spoke mostly on the type of training that RAA/Falcon students can receive. He touched on the main differences between the old training model and Gulfstreams model. They sated that RAA / Falcon’s Airline Transition Course “really achieves the airline preparation that is needed today”. Between the two speakers it was a well rounded seminar that armed each participant with essential knowledge on making it in the aviation industry.
